About the NEM and NEMx Audio Codecs:

The NEM Audio Codec originated in 1996 with a team of international scientists, including former Bell Laboratories scientists who performed the core R&D behind AAC and neurophysiological researchers from The Johns Hopkins Medical School.  Additional key contributions from over a dozen computational neurophysiology and digital signal processing experts from leading universities, including Stanford University, the University of Illinois, and  Johns Hopkins University, contributed to evolving and optimizing the NEM algorithms over the last 13 years.
